Wilfred lived with his brother and sisters on the Farm ‘Ardenvale’ until his marriage to Sybil Hughes in 1952, after which the couple lived in Tamworth. Wilfred and brother Walter formed the farming partnership of Hombsch Bros. They farmed ‘Ardenvale’ and later purchased a nearby property to extend their farming interests. Wilfred was a good tennis player and was also noted for his mechanical Knowledge and expertise in his farm workshop. ‘Ardenvale’ was sold in 1983 and Wilfred then retired to live in Tamworth until his death.
