Netta, as Annetta was known, was the youngest child and attended Tamworth High School where she won a scholarship to Teachers College in Sydney. She worked as a primary school teacher at various small schools throughout the north of New South Wales and finally Sydney. During the war she and her husband, John Crossley, operated a small mixed business in Sydney but later John returned to his trade as a builder and built several large blocks of units in the Maroubra Area.
After john died, Netta continued to live at Maroubra until 1988 when she moved to Tamworth. Netta was a very good tennis player in her younger days and a keen bowler in later years.
