Bertha Lydia Mickan was born at Walla Walla, N.S.W. and attended the Public School, Walla Walla. Mr. V.D. Clarke, was the teacher in charge. There was a great sadness in the Mickan home when it became known that Lydia had contracted meningitis and in a few days she passed away.
The funeral service was conducted by Pastor Gotlob Simpfendorfer and the burial took place in the Walla Walla Cemetery.
