Heinrich changed his name by Deed Poll to John Harry Rohrich in 1926 and was known as Harry. He was born in Walla Walla and as a small child moved
with his parents to Henty where he remained until he enlisted at the age of twenty-two years in 1915. Harry served at Gallipoli and in Palestine as a member of the Sixth Light Horse Regiment and also served in World War II.
In 1922 he married Florence Jackson who was a dietitian with the Australian Army. They ventured to a property near Mullumbimby, New South Wales, and tried their hand at growing bananas. This was followed by nine years in a news agency in the mining town of Abermain. From there they moved to Narara on an orange grove before finally retiring to Terrigal. Ten years later Harry died. Florence then moved to a retirement village in Gosford.
Harry was known as a skilled horseman, a crack marksman and a top tennis player in his earlier days. Always a keen gardener, this was combined with fishing for his recreation during his retirement. Harry was a man of integrity, kind and loved by all.
