3.6.8 Benno Heinrich Arnold.
Ben was born on his parent’s farm at Stockport on 13 December 1907 and commenced his schooling at the Lutheran school at Bethel, and following that school’s closure during World War I, continued at Stockport Public School.
After leaving school Ben worked for his father on the farm and also for a time in the local chaff mill. Later, together with his brother, they did share-farming on their father’s property and also for neighbours until they bought land of their own including the father’s property.
Ben lived on the farm all his life and died on 31 July 1970 and is buried at Bethel cemetery.
