4.2.5 Olive Hedwig Handke.
Hedwig attended the Point Pass State School. She was an active and energetic girl and enjoyed her brothers boisterous games. While still attending school she stayed with a family in Point Pass and cared for their children after school. The rewards
for these duties were food and clothing and this was considered very helpful in those days. She later helped families with domestic duties.
Due to an infection following a tonsil operation, Hedwig died at the young age of eighteen years. She is buried in the St Petri cemetery at Point Pass.
